If you use tissue paper to soak up extra oil from fried items, you are (supposedly) doing it incorrectly!
It is true that employing tissue paper to absorb excess oil from fried items may not be the most effective way. While tissue paper can absorb some oil, it is not intended for this purpose and may leave residue or even break apart in the process, thus leaving particles of paper on your food.
A preferable way is to quickly transfer the fried food to a wire rack or paper towels. This allows surplus oil to flow out more effectively while reducing the possibility of paper residue. Furthermore, gently pressing the fried food between layers of paper towels can assist absorb more oil while minimizing the danger of paper disintegration. Some individuals also use specialized absorbent mats or cloths intended to absorb excess oil from fried dishes.
