Why did KL Rahul miss the toss between LSG and PBKS?

Speaking before the toss, Pooran informed everyone that there was nothing to worry about, but that it was a tactic to ensure Rahul received enough of recovery as the Indian hitter returns to the IPL in 2024 after an injury absence. The West Indies batsman stated that Rahul will play as a ‘Impact Sub’ against PBKS.

“KL is coming back from injury and we’re looking to give him a break in such a long tournament, but he’ll play as an impact player today,” Pooran remarked when the ball was called.
