Today, Junaid Khan, the son of Aamir Khan, begins filming for his next movie Maharaja with YRF.
Aamir Khan’s son Junaid starts his journey in Bollywood from today. According to sources in a leading daily, we hear that Junaid Khan starts shooting for his debut film Maharaja today. The film is backed by Yash Raj Films and is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. The film is based on a true incident from 1862 and with Junaid having a theatre background, the actor has prepared a lot for his role and made sure he fits the bill. “The director and his production design team were setting up the groundwork over the past month. A massive set has been built in Vijay Nagar in Marol where the period drama will be shot,” says a source to the leading daily.
The film is based on Jadunathji Brijratanji Maharaj who was a religious leader who had dragged reformer-journalist Karsandas Mulji to court, as he had penned down a “libellous” article. Junaid Khan will play the role of Mulji and we’re quite curious to watch Aamir Khan’s son in this one.
YRF has launched several stars in the past. Right from Ranveer Singh (Band Baaja Baaraat – 2010), Arjun Kapoor (Ishqazaade – 2012), Parineeti Chopra (Ladies vs Ricky Bahl – 2011) to Anushka Sharma (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi – 2008), the production house has launched big names and now all eyes are on Junaid.
