Chris Pratt remembers his Jurassic World co-star Irrfan Khan: He was just such an elegant man
The late actor Irrfan Khan was one of the pioneers when it came to the non-stereotypical representation of Indians in Hollywood. The actor has had many memorable roles, including his role in the 2015 film Jurassic World, which featured Chris Pratt. The actor, who is best known for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, has now opened up about working with Irrfan Khan and recalled admiring his elegance.
In Jurassic World, Irrfan Khan played the role of antagonist Simon Masrani. The film, directed by Colin Trevorrow, also featured Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, and more. In a recent interview with a leading news portal, Chris Pratt reflected on his experience working with Irrfan Khan. Talking about his admiration for the late actor, he said, “He was just such an elegant man like, down to his fingernails. There was just an elegance about him. He was also so powerful. It’s really a rare combination for there to be such strength in softness. And that’s what I would call elegant, he could do very little, and still, he would be doing so much.”
Irrfan was hailed for his effortless acting skills. Chris Pratt aptly describes him, saying, “Just by his sheer presence, and his sheer charisma, that he would bring to a role. One tiny flick of an eyebrow, or one tiny little move, was so powerful.”
Irrfan Khan passed away in April 2020 after battling cancer. Chris Pratt mourned his loss and took to Twitter to share his tribute. He wrote, “So sad to hear about the passing of screen legend @irrfank Irrfan Khan played Masrani in Jurassic World. He was an exquisite actor and human. He will be missed.”
Chris Pratt has a packed slate of films at present. The actor is all set to appear in another Jurassic World instalment—Jurassic World: Dominion. The film will feature the return of the original trio, comprising Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill. The actor is also gearing up for the release of Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder, in which he has a cameo.
