Priyanka Chopra Jonas talks about being a new parent in interaction with Lilly Singh

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas announced the birth of their daughter via surrogacy some months ago. Even though the couple hasn’t shared the name of their daughter, the actress uploaded a photo dump that shared a glimpse of her nursery.

The actress recently interacted with comedian Lilly Singh during her book launch. In the interaction, she made a statement for the first time about her newborn baby. The former Miss World said, “As a new parent right now, I keep thinking that I will never be imposing my desires, fears, and upbringing on my child. I have always believed that children come through you, not from you. There is no belief like this is my child and I will shape everything. They come through you to find and build their own life. Recognising that really helped me, my parents were very non-judgmental in a certain way.”

In an Instagram post shared on January 22, Priyanka Chopra announced that they welcomed their first child. She wrote, “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”

According to reports, Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra hasn’t been able to see the baby as of yet. In an interview with a leading publication, she said, “I am here and she is in LA. We do Facetime once in a while. I think she is happy and joyous. This is all I can say for now. But maybe when I go and meet her in the middle of the year, I will be able to answer this better.”
