Ranveer Singh’s ’83 declared ‘tax-free’ in Delhi
Kabir Khan’s ’83 is all set to hit the big screens on 24 December. The movie is based on the Indian cricket teams’ historic World Cup victory in 1983. The team that was considered an underdog, surprised everyone by winning the most prestigious cricket tournament. Come 24 December and we all can relive the proud moment.
Keeping in mind the sentiments attached to the movie, the Delhi government has declared the movie ‘tax-free’ in the national capital. The information was shared by the filmmaker on Instagram.
Kabir shared the poster of ’83 on his Instagram handle and captioned it as, “Thank you, Shri. @arvindkejriwal ji and Shri. msisodia.aap ji, for declaring the film 83 tax-free in Delhi! Your gesture will able us to propagate the tale of India’s greatest victory to a wider audience. @therealkapildev #ThisIs83.”
Ranveer Singh portrays former Indian captain Kapil Dev on screen. Deepika Padukone essays the role of Romi, Kapil Dev’s wife. The movie also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Adinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, R Badree and Pankaj Tripathi.
