Esha Deol says that her father Dharmendra wasn’t keen on her entering showbiz
Esha Deol was last seen at the movies in 2011 in Tell Me O Khhuda. After that she took a break from the movies and soon tied the knot with Bharat Takhtani in 2012 and even has two daughters with him. Today the actress is all set for her comeback as an actress and also make her debut as a producer.
Esha Deol earlier this month announced her banner Bharat Esha Films (BEF) and the actress’ first project under the banner will be Ek Duaa which is directed by Ramkamal Mukherje and stars her. As she spoke to a leading daily about her new venture, the actress even shared about how men and women are treated differently. As she answered that question, she recollected the time she was planning to make her debut and her father Dharmendra was not really happy about it. “I wouldn’t say that they have it tough. Yes, there is a different level of challenge and boys too have their own set. As far as my father is concerned, he is possessive and orthodox, and for him, girls should be kept away from the world in a protected way. That was what he must have felt, also knowing how our industry functions. All said and done, we managed and how!”
Last year Hema Malini too had said on a show that her superstar-husband and Esha’s father Dharmendra was not really keen about her debut. And we all know that when Esha Deol seen in a bold avatar in 2004 in Dhoom, Dharmendra was not really happy with it.
