Here’s why Akshay Kumar’s Bellbottom is having a rare Tuesday release
After several delays and almost a year long wait, Akshay Kumar starrer Bellbottom has a release date. Unlike most films in the last one year, Bellbottom will have a theatrical release on July 27, 2021. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta along with the superstar and is directed by Ranjit M Tewari. The film is only the second big release this year after Radhe that hit the theatres on Eid.
Ditching the conventional release, Bellbottom will be hitting the theatre on a Tuesday instead of the box-office Friday. With no festival or special occasion on that date, fans and audiences were curious to know why the filmmakers picked that particular date and an industry insider revealed, “The reason is simple. 2+7 = 9. And as we all know, 9 is Akshay Kumar’s lucky number. Hence, the decision was taken to release Bellbottom on July 27, despite it being a Tuesday.”
This is only the second time it’s happened, the first being nine years ago when Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son of Sardar released on November 13, a Tuesday.
