Amitabh tests negative for coronavirus, discharged from hospital
Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, who was discharged from Nanavati hospital on Sunday, will remain under home quarantine.
Actor Amitabh Bachchan was discharged from Nanavati hospital on Sunday after testing negative for Covid-19. The 77-year-old will remain under home quarantine. His son and actor Abhishek Bachchan, however, continues to remain admitted in the hospital after testing positive on July 11.
“I have tested CoVid- (covid negative) have been discharged. I am back home in solitary quarantine,” Bachchan tweeted on Sunday evening. Abhishek also tweeted saying his father has been discharged and will rest at home. In another tweet, he said: “I, Unfortunately due to some comorbidities remain Covid-19 positive and remain in hospital. Again, thank you all for your continued wishes and prayers for my family. Very humbled and indebted.”

Both Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan had tested positive for Covid-19 on July 11 with mild symptoms and were hospitalised the same night. The next day, actor and Abhishek’s wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya had tested positive while four others in the family tested negative.
