Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Royal Wedding Date Confirmed
On May 19 2018 Prince Harry And Meghan Markle will get married. Kensington Palace has confirmed on Twitter. The wedding is set to take place at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, with the royal family paying for the celebrations. Markle, a protestant, is set to be baptised and confirmed before the wedding, and intends to become a British citizen.
The date is of course a Saturday, dashing any hopes of a royal wedding bank holiday like the one enjoyed thanks to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding in April 2011. Whilst those who got “bank holiday” trending on Twitter on the day that the engagement was announced in November will be left disappointed, royalists – and journalists – around the world will be marking the date firmly in their diaries. Those in real trouble will be keen football fans with an equal penchant for royal nuptials – May 19 is also the date of the FA Cup Final (and let’s not forget that Prince William is the president of the Football Association).
